Frequently Asked Questions

What is the age range for the activities at the Museum?
The exhibits target children ages 2 to 8, though many activities engage visitors of all ages.

Where can I park?
Free parking is available in the parking lot next to the Museum.

Can I drop off my child and leave for the day?
No. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

What should my child wear?
We recommend that you dress your children in casual play clothes. Most of our exhibits aren’t messy, but if your child plays in the Bubble Room or in the Great Outdoor Discovery Area, their clothes may get a little dirty.

Can we bring in food into the Museum?
Yes! You are more than welcome to bring food, we just ask that you refrain from eating in our exhibit areas. The Dino Diner inside the Museum is available for use and the Great Outdoor Discovery Area has picnic tables that can be used as an eating area. Please limit your use of the Dino Diner to 30 minutes.

Do you have a gift store?
Yes! We have a gift store with items as low as $1.00, including Northeast Texas Children’s Museum t-shirts for $12.00. All proceeds from purchases benefit the Museum and its programs.

Can I get a refund for tickets I bought to an event or program?
We’re sorry, but all ticket sales are final.

Accessibility

We will do our best to accommodate any accessibility needs you and your family require. A larger restroom is available for wheelchairs and the parking lot has a ramp that goes to the front door of the Museum. Private rooms are available for nursing mothers or children needing a quiet space. Service animals and service animals in training are welcome at the Museum. If you or your child need any further accommodations, please let us know.

Museum Guidelines

In order to have the best possible experience at the Children’s Museum, we suggest that children:

  • Keep grown-ups with you at all times
  • Use inside voices
  • No running
  • Pick up toys before leaving exhibits
  • Keep shoes on at all times
  • No food or drinks outside of the Dino Diner, Party Room, and Great Outdoor Discovery Area
  • Please note that we are not a drop-off center or childcare facility. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, including in the Great Outdoor Discovery Area.
